Facilities Manager
Location: Atlanta, GA

The Facilities Manager, reporting to the Regional Director, O&M Services, will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of several landfill waste gas fired reciprocating engine generators and their associated well fields. In this role, the Facilities Manager will interface regularly with the owners asset manager and will be responsible for execution and have full responsibility for the contractual performance and the responsibilities of PIC Groups O&M contract. These assets, CAT 3500 series engines & generators, are located on single operator sites in several states. Initially, the successful candidate will have direct reports totaling 6-8 personnel. That number of direct reports may increase as the owner acquires additional assets.

Essential duties:

Direct all Facility Operators in the safe and efficient operation of the reciprocating engine generators, related auxiliaries, balance of plant systems & equipment and well fields.

Oversee plant dispatch in accordance with Owner requirements, and according to the provisions of the Power Purchase Agreements.
Direct and oversee Facility Operators in the proper start-up, operation, and shutdown of equipment, systems, and the plant in accordance with approved plant procedures.

Assist Facility Operators in the troubleshooting of plant operational problems.

Respond to plant emergencies in accordance with the emergency response plans.

Monitor all applicable plant permits and regulations; notify the Regional Director of situations that may result in violation of established limits and/or regulatory requirements.

Periodically audit the tagout/lockout system to ensure all required tags and locks remain in place, and that the system is being used properly.
Establish and maintain plant operations data record keeping, including operation logs, trend logs, chemistry logs and reports pertaining to environmental regulations and operations.

Establish program for plants reliability and availability improvement.
Prepare and manage the Operations & Maintenance budget.
Implement PIC Group Codes of Operations, Qualifications, Training and Maintenance programs.

Manage the facilities according to approved programs.
Provide periodic reports to customer.

Assist with adjusting the maintenance schedule within the CMMS system as required for routine and preventative maintenance for all plant systems and equipment.

Develop a major maintenance (including plant outages) and repair process including intervals and cost information.

Travel to other plant locations and to corporate will be required. Initially, the position will be based out of PIC Group's Atlanta, GA HQ with possible transition to a home-based office.

The facilities are located near Atlanta, GA, Knoxville, TN, Clarksville, TN, Jacksonville, NC, Arcadia, KS, and Hartville, MO.

Education, Skills and Experience requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a bachelors degree in business / or extensive operational experience is required.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in electric power plant operations.

A minimum of 5 years of progressive supervisory experience.

CAT, GE-Jenbacher or Wartsila reciprocating engine experience required;

Landfill gas well field experience preferred, but not required;

Financial acumen including budget development and management experience;

CMMS and Maintenance Program management experience;

Weekly and Monthly report preparation experience;

EH&S knowledge and experience;

Environmental and regulatory experience;

Proficiency in MS Office suite of programs. There is a regular requirement to provide budget variance reports, monthly report and other ad-hoc reports.

Ability to productively work independently and as an overall integral team member.

Must have strong communication skills and the ability to effectively organize and facilitate process teams.

Ability to understand complex contractual issues as they relate to plant operations and maintenance.

Ability to handle quick changing situations under stress and to work extended hours on short notice when required.

Approximately 50% travel required.
