The O&M Foreman is responsible for the safe, efficient, lawful, and cost-effective management and operations of the generation facility. This position will provide leadership to the plant staff in operations and maintenance functions while ensuring conformance with all facility contracts, permits, and safety regulations. Furthermore, the O&M Foreman will ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and will serve as the alternate interface between these agencies.
The O&M Foreman directly supervises Plant Operators and Maintenance Technicians. He carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and recommending discipline for employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Position Description:
Supervises, manages, and monitors activities of workers engaged in the operation and maintenance of stationary engines, electrical generators, motors, and pumps to generate electrical power by performing the following duties.
Compiles and maintains records of compliance and regulatory data for the plant, in conjunction with all EHS and EMS standards by performing the following duties:
Direct Plant Operators and Shift Supervisors in the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Prepares shift schedules to ensure around the clock coverage for all hours of the year.
Develops and oversees qualification training for all operations and maintenance personnel.
Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Monitors workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
Studies production schedules and estimates man-hour requirements for job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet maintenance schedules.
Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant or work crew as well as to reduce costs.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Has the ability/knowledge to perform activities of workers supervised.
Prepares or reviews purchase orders for parts, products, and services ensuring budgetary constraints are maintained.
Prepares or reviews work orders for required preventative and corrective maintenance.
Reads and understands technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Works with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed in accordance with technical manual procedures and sound engineering practices.
Enforces, complies with, and supports all EHS/ EMS, regulatory requirements, and established plant work rules.
Requirements:
May require extended working hours with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as necessary.
This position will require a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
Excellent computer skills and a proficiency with Microsoft suite of program including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Valid US Passport with the ability to travel internationally to countries where PIC is doing business.
Preferred Experience:
Ability to read and understand corporate programs, policies, procedures and instructions specific to the O&M contracts. Qualifications must include the following:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience in the military or technical schools or 4+ years of experience in similar position;
Experience with the operation and maintenance of Reciprocating Engines
